Esther Duflo
Esther Duflo is the Abdul Latif Jameel Professor of Poverty Alleviation and Development Economics at MIT and co-founder of the Abdul Latif Jameel Poverty Action Lab (J-PAL). Her research focuses on understanding the economic lives of the poor to inform effective social policies. Duflo won the 2019 Nobel Prize in Economics, alongside Abhijit Banerjee and Michael Kremer, and co-authored Poor Economics and Good Economics for Hard Times.
