Tomoko Kikuchi

Tomoko Kikuchi, born in Fukushima, Japan, has been living in India since 1992. She earned her B.A. in Hindi from Maharani’s College, Jaipur, and her M.A., M.Phil., and Ph.D. in Hindi from Jawaharlal Nehru University, New Delhi. Her work focuses on social issues and peace, particularly the atomic bomb. She has published Mahadevi Varma ka Vishvadrishti (2009) and translated several Japanese works into Hindi, including Hiroshima no Pika, Town of Evening Calm and Country of Cherry Blossoms, Orchestra of My Fingers, and Sagashiteimasu. She also contributed to the Hindi dubbing of On the Paper Crane. She has received the 9th World Hindi Conference Award and the Samanwaya Award.
