Akshaya Rautaray started working in the book industry in 2010 as a data entry operator in a bookshop. In 2014, he quit his job as manager of a renowned bookshop chain to start the traveling bookstore Walking BookFairs with partner Satabdi Mishra. With the aim to make books more accessible and affordable, Walking BookFairs has travelled more than 20,000 kilometres across India taking books to thousands of people. Walking BookFairs has published two books of Odia poetry in a bid to showcase new writing and diverse voices from Odisha.
